Privacy Policy

Last updated 2026-10-22

OptOutDeck publishes free tools and plain guides on GDPR, CCPA and the US state privacy laws. There is no account, no login and no newsletter. This page says what we collect when you visit, and what we do with it.

What the tools do with what you type

The tools work in your browser. Dates, counts and answers you enter are not sent to us and are not kept by us; closing the tab clears them.

Analytics

We count visits with Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-K3QWJ03LJJ). Google Analytics records the pages you view, the page that sent you here, your approximate location and your browser and device. Outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland it also sets first-party cookies so a return visit counts as the same visitor. Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland get cookieless measurement: Google Analytics sets no cookies for them. We use these numbers to see which pages are read. We do not use them for advertising.

You can block analytics with your browser’s cookie settings or a content blocker. The site works the same either way.

When you write to us

Messages sent through the contact form or by email (your name, your email address and what you wrote) reach the editors by email. We use them only to reply.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, it handles technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and to block abusive traffic.

What we do not do

We do not sell your personal information, we do not use it for targeted advertising, and the site is not meant for children.

Your requests

Write to privacy@optoutdeck.com to ask what we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted. For most readers the only thing we hold is an email they sent us. We answer every request.

Changes

If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. See also our terms of use.
